Fiberglass tapes are plain weave fiberglass fabrics intended to be used with resin as part of a finished composite part. Their convenient, easy-handling format makes them ideally suited for selective reinforcement of fiberglass laminates for seams and edges of molds, as well as applications like pipe winding.

These tapes are not adhesive-backed and will require an epoxy, polyester, or vinyl ester resin. They have the same plain weave construction, which ensures uniform strength in both horizontal and vertical directions, a key quality commitment from our fiberglass tape products. The full roll length is 50 yards, and the width is 2 inches.

The fiberglass tapes offer excellent abrasion resistance, thermal insulation properties, and waterproof capabilities. They also boast impressive tensile strength. These tapes are narrow widths of woven fabric made from E-glass fibers with a strong selvage edge, which prevents fraying and unraveling of the fabric edges.

The narrow widths eliminate the need for cutting wider fiberglass fabrics down to size, increasing accuracy and productivity. The finished edges offer easier handling and a clean, finished appearance, and they keep the tape from unraveling. The tapes also have low smoke emission and can be heat-treated to minimize fraying during fabrication.

While these fiberglass tapes are referred to as "tapes" due to their width and appearance, they are not adhesive-backed. They are simply fabrics, unlike adhesive-backed Glass Cloth Tape.

The fiberglass tapes are compatible with epoxy resin and polyester resin, making them suitable for reinforcing seams and corners on canoes, boats, plywood, and for general repairs.

Fiberglass Tape is ideal for selective reinforcement of laminates. It can also be used for sleeve, pipe, or tank winding, as well as to join seams in separate parts and molding. The tightly woven tapes offer more uniformity and are highly drapable.
